Sanitary Sewer Overflow Reported on December 27, 2019 at 838 Ottawa Street
On December 27, 2019 at 2:40 p.m. Water Pollution Control (WPC) staff responded to a call from a professional plumber regarding a sewage overflow at 838 Ottawa Street. Upon arrival, City staff noticed sewage coming from a manhole. Sewage on the ground was contained with absorbent material until the flush truck arrived and cleared the line. The overflow was stopped at 3:30 p.m. WPC cleaned the area and put out contaminated creek signs. The public is asked to stay out of the creek from 838 Ottawa Street south to Three-Mile Creek, until contaminated creek signs are removed.

UPDATE: As of January 2, 2020, the creek has been tested for E. coli and levels are within acceptable limits. Contaminated creek signs will be removed on January 2, 2020.
