Land Disturbance and Excavation

A Land Disturbance Permit (LDP) or an Excavation Permit is a permit required by the City of Leavenworth for any activity that can create bare soil or may cause erosion or sediment changes that will be over 100 square feet. These activities include, but are not limited to, clearing, removal of vegetation, grading, grubbing, excavating, filling, logging and storing of materials. In most cases, land disturbance permits are a no-cost permit; however, there are projects that may require additional information, bonds and fees associated.

What are BMPs?

A BMP is a method used to prevent or control stormwater runoff and the discharge of pollutants, including sediment, into local water bodies. Silt fences, inlet protection, and site-stabilization techniques are typical BMPs on a construction site.
