City offices closed for Christmas, New Year holidays in 2022-2023

In November 2022, Mayor Camalla Leonhard and First-Grader Jonathan Harmon officially lit the tree at Haymarket Square.

Update: Severe weather is predicted to reach Leavenworth on Dec. 22-23. We have updated our holiday trash schedule.

City offices and the Riverfront Community Center will close or have reduced holiday hours during the 2022-2023 holiday season.

City Hall and the Municipal Service Center will close Monday, Dec. 26, 2022 and Monday, Jan. 2, 2023.

City Hall closes at noon Friday, December 23.

Trash schedules will be:

  • Thursday, Dec. 22 - No Trash
  • Friday, Dec. 23 - No Trash
     
  • Monday, Dec. 26, 2022 – Trash from Thursday Dec. 22 and Friday, Dec. 23
  • Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022 – Monday trash
  • Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022 – Tuesday trash
  • Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022 – Wednesday trash
  • Friday, Dec. 30, 2022 – Thursday trash
  • Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022 – Friday trash
     
  • Monday, Jan. 2, 2023 – No trash
  • Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023 – Monday trash
  • Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023 – Tuesday trash
  • Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023 – Wednesday trash
  • Friday, Jan. 6, 2023 – Thursday trash
  • Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023 – Friday trash

 The Riverfront Community Center will close:

  • At noon Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022
  • Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022
  • At 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022
  • Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023

Parks and Recreation administration offices close Monday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 2.

Leavenworth residents may dispose of live Christmas tree (decorations must be removed) at the Brush Site, 1803 S. 2nd St. Disposal of trees will take place 8:00 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. Dec. 27, Dec. 28, Dec. 29, Dec. 30, Dec. 31, Jan. 3, Jan. 4, Jan. 5, Jan. 6 and Jan. 7.

The Riverfront Community Center’s indoor pool is also available for holiday open swim. Hours are:

  • 2 – 4 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 27
  • 2 – 4 p.m. Thursday Dec. 29.

Daily entry fee for the Riverfront Community Center is $2.50 for City of Leavenworth residents and Fort Leavenworth residents over 18 and $3 for non-residents over 18. Fees for youth 4-18 are $2 for City of Leavenworth residents and Fort Leavenworth residents and $2.50 for non-resident youth.
