City offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 24, 2021 and Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 for the holidays. City Hall will also close at noon Thursday Dec. 23. The Riverfront Community Center will close at noon Dec. 24 and throughout the day Saturday, Dec. 25. The Riverfront Community Center will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 31 and throughout the day Saturday, Jan. 1.
Regular trash pickup service will not be affected. “Free First Saturday,” will be available Saturday, Jan. 8 (see below)
The Riverfront Community Center pool is available for lap swim when the facility is open in the times below. While the pool is not open for open swim, families can make appointments for private parties by contacting the Aquatics Supervisor Nancy Baker, nbaker@firstcity.org.

The Brush Site, 1803 S. Second St., accepts real Christmas trees, decorations removed. The facility will be open for tree disposal 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 28, Dec. 29, Jan. 4, Jan. 5, Jan. 7 and Jan. 8. Artificial or real trees can also be disposed along with a resident’s regular trash curbside pickup.
“Free First Saturday,” a monthly event that allows free use of the brush site for residents to dispose of yard waste, appliances, and bulky items is taking place on Saturday, Jan. 8. The Brush Site at 1803 S. Second is available for brush and leaf disposal. Behind the Municipal Service Center, dumpsters are provided for residents at the north entrance (Pennsylvania and Lawrence) to drop off materials such as large appliances, furniture, trash and tires, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
