The City of Leavenworth operates under a Commission-City Manager form of government with five Council Members elected at-large. As Chief Executive Officer of the City organization, the City Manager is responsible for daily administration of the City’s operations and affairs. The City Manager serves the community through the management of local government departments, projects, and programs, and will represent the City at public events.

The City of Leavenworth is seeking a level-headed, non-partisan, consistent leader who can help create a strategic vision for the City to serve as its next City Manager. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and relationship builder, able to build relationships with the team as well as with other organizations. They will be able to engage businesses in the community to encourage economic development and build relationships with elected leaders at all levels of the government.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science, business administration, or a related field, with an MBA, MPA, or master’s degree in a technical field related to a major function of local government preferred. Candidates must have 5-10 years of progressive administrative experience, with at least two (2) years supervising a team of employees. Local government experience is required. A relative combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. The City Manager must live within city limits within six months of employment.

The City of Leavenworth offers a competitive salary range of $145,000-$160,000, dependent on qualifications and experience.
