City streets to receive $1.8 million in major repairs in 2024

Each year the City of Leavenworth budgets funding for major street repairs, called the Pavement Management Program. This is in addition to the regular crack seal repair, pothole repair and patching done by streets division staff throughout the year.
Little Joe’s Asphalt was awarded the bid for the 2024 Pavement Management Program during the March 12, 2024 City Commission meeting. The street repairs scheduled for 2024 will cost approximately $1.8 million. The work will consist of mill and overlay, which means that the top 2 inches of driving surface will be milled away and replaced with asphalt overlay. Streets were recommended after staff evaluated both their Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and actual field conditions. Work is scheduled to begin in May. The work will include some short-term road closures. Stay tuned to the City of Leavenworth website, social media sites and other information available regarding road closures.

- Shrine Park Road - McDonald Road to Limit Street
- 10th Avenue - 180' North of Eisenhower Road to 65' South of Muncie Road
- 10th Avenue - 200' North of Limit Street to 100' North of Vilas Street
- Limit Street - 50' West of Broadway Terrace to Shrine Park Road
- Oregon Street Lakeview Circle to Lakeview Drive
- 17th Terrace - Dead End to Thornton Street
- 5th Avenue - Michigan Street to Middle Street
- Oak Steet - West 7th Street to 7th Street
- Short Street - 65' South of Intersection of West 7th Street to 7th Street
- 2nd Street - 120' North of Chestnut Street to 3 Mile Creek Bridge
- Shawnee Street - 15th Street to 20th Street
- 7th Street - Shawnee Street to Seneca Street
- 7th Street - Delaware Street to Shawnee Street
- 7th Street - Cherokee Street to Delaware Street
- 7th Street - 3 Mile Creek Bridge to Cherokee Street
